Summary

This policy explains how Gym0 for iPhone and Apple Watch handles your information. Gym0 is developed by Aneesh Patne ("we", "us").

  • We do not collect your personal information. Gym0 has no account, no developer server, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs.
  • Everything Gym0 reads or creates stays on your iPhone and Apple Watch, and is used only to provide Gym0's features to you.
  • You can withdraw permissions and erase Gym0's data at any time.

On your wrist

Motion and heart rate are read and processed on your Apple Watch. Finished workouts go to your iPhone and to Apple Health.

Apple Watch motion

During a workout, Gym0 on Apple Watch reads wrist acceleration and rotation (Motion & Fitness) to detect sets and estimate repetitions. The motion recording is processed and kept on the Watch, excluded from backups, until you delete it or erase Watch data. It is not saved to Apple Health or sent to a server.

Between your iPhone and Apple Watch

Gym0 sends saved workouts, exercise targets, workout logs, and live workout metrics directly between your paired iPhone and Apple Watch, using Apple's WatchConnectivity. This transfer happens between your own devices; it does not pass through a Gym0 server.

On your iPhone

Your logs, routines and insights live in Gym0 on your iPhone. Nothing goes to a Gym0 server, because there isn’t one.

Information you enter

Gym0 stores what you add in the app: workouts, exercises, sets, weights, repetitions, saved workouts, plans, the maximum heart rate you enter, and your preferences. This information is stored in Gym0's container on your device and is used only to show your history and insights.

Optional on-device summaries

If you turn on workout summaries, Gym0 uses Apple's on-device language model to write short summaries of your workouts. This feature is off by default, runs entirely on your iPhone, and sends nothing to us or to any AI provider. You can turn it off in Gym0's Settings.

Notifications and Live Activities

If you allow notifications, Gym0 schedules reminders on your device, for example when a new workout appears in Apple Health. Gym0 has no push-notification server. Notifications and Live Activities use generic wording by default; you can choose to show workout details on your lock screen in Gym0's Settings.

In Apple Health

Health access is yours to grant. Gym0 on iPhone only reads; the Watch app saves the workouts you record.

Apple Health

Gym0 reads Apple Health data only with your permission, which you grant or decline in Apple's Health permission screen.

  • Gym0 on iPhone reads workouts, workout distances (walking and running, cycling, swimming), active energy, heart rate, heart-rate recovery, and workout effort scores. It uses them to build your training history, compare sessions, suggest which saved workout a session was, and remind you to log a new workout. Gym0 on iPhone does not write to Apple Health.
  • Gym0 on Apple Watch reads heart rate, active energy, and resting energy during a workout you start, to show live metrics and a summary. It saves the workouts you record to Apple Health.

Health data is never used for advertising, marketing, or data mining, and is never sold or shared. Gym0's figures are fitness estimates, not medical advice or medical measurements.

In your backups

Your manual logs can be included in your own device backups. Raw recordings, models and caches are excluded.

Storage, backups, and security

Gym0's data is stored on your devices and protected by iOS and watchOS data protection. Your manually entered history and preferences may be included in your device backups, including iCloud Backup if you turn it on. Raw motion recordings, Health-derived insights, local models, and summaries are excluded from backups. Gym0 does not store Health data in iCloud.

Erase or opt out

Erase Gym0’s data or withdraw any permission at any time. Apple Health records and older backups are managed by Apple.

Retention and deletion

Gym0 keeps your data on your devices until you delete it. You can:

  • delete individual workouts and saved workouts in the app;
  • erase all Gym0 data on iPhone in Gym0's Settings, under Privacy, with Erase iPhone data;
  • erase all Gym0 data on Apple Watch in Gym0 on the Watch, under Privacy, with Erase Watch data;
  • delete the app, which removes its data from that device.

Workouts saved to Apple Health are deleted in the Health app. Older device backups are managed in your iCloud or computer backup settings. To stop a deleted Watch workout from being imported again, Gym0 keeps its identifier, which contains no workout data.

Sharing and third parties

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone, and Gym0 contains no third-party code that collects it. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and ask for your permission first, and any third party would be required to protect your information as this policy does.

Apple provides the system services Gym0 relies on, including Apple Health, WatchConnectivity, and device backups, under Apple's own privacy policy.

Diagnostics from Apple

If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may provide us with anonymous crash reports and aggregate usage statistics. We use them only to fix problems in Gym0.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. Because we do not collect or hold your personal information, all of it stays on your devices and under your control, and you can exercise these rights directly with the steps above. We do not sell or share personal information. You can contact us with any request or question.
